The idea for this blog came from my deep passion for fountain pens, inks & ink friendly papers. I started fountain pens from my school days and use it even today (in other words never left it actually ;-)). However, my choice of inks were limited to the basic ones which you could find in local book stores. Blue ink was always my favourite colour but was limited to royal blue and papers were any which I could get my hands on (and pray that they do not blot when the nib touches the paper).
My surprise came when I travelled internationally and for the first time in my life saw the world of colours and fountain pen friendly papers. Blue was no more just the bland royal blue which we could get in the local stores. There were more shades of blue which my hands could even count and papers even if flimsy would not blot. Oh boy! That was a surprise. And from here the journey to this fantastic wonderland started. However, when I tried getting the same experience in India, I will not say it was not possible but surely more difficult. Over the years, I have come to realize that there are many companies from India who are more easily available in stores in other countries than our local stores in India. This was another surprise to un-hide these gems.
The main objective of my blog is not only to review the products but also to showcase the hidden treasures (our Indian companies) to the larger fountain pen community users. I am sure as I embark on this journey, I will learn a lot from your feedback.
